Compression Springs are open-coil helical springs wound or constructed to oppose compression along the axis of wind. Helical Compression is the most common metal spring configuration. These coil springs can work independently, though often assembled over a guide rod or fitted inside a hole

Torsion springs are helical springs that store and release rotational energy, exerting a torque or twisting force when their ends are rotated around the central axis, pushing back to their original position. They differ from compression/extension springs by working via twisting motion, finding use in garage doors, hinges, clothespins, and automotive parts, storing energy by tightening the coil and releasing it as torque. They are highly customizable and known for durability, made from materials like steel, with designs allowing clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation.  

A double torsion spring combines two single torsion springs into one unit, featuring two sets of coils (one clockwise, one counter-clockwise) connected by a straight wire, providing greater torque and bidirectional force for applications needing rotational precision, like hinges, medical devices, or automotive parts. They offer roughly double the force of a single spring and are essential for precise control in dynamic motion.
